Who signs Data Use Agreements?

Answer

The official University signatory, UAlbany’s Controller signs all DUAs. DUAs are signed by the Controller once they have been reviewed by the required University stakeholders to ensure UAlbany can meet the DUA’s terms and conditions.

Each user of data covered under a DUA (faculty, student, or staff) will need to sign a form attesting that they have read, understand, and agree to meet the terms and conditions of the DUA and will follow the procedures outlined in the Data Management Plan. Additionally, the Principal Investigator/Project Director or faculty advisor will agree to additional terms that ensure the appropriate use of the data by all data users for the duration of the project.
