What are OERs (open educational resources)?

Answer

OERs are course materials that are openly licensed or in the public domain. As such, OER content may be reused, redistributed, remixed, revised and retained.  By providing OER options for students, the cost of course materials is eliminated or reduced, and OER adoption has been shown to increase retention and learning outcomes. The UAlbany campus has several resources for learning about how to incorporate OERs into your course: https://www.albany.edu/teachonline/resources/oer.shtml
