Current UAlbany students, faculty, and staff at the University at Albany can activate their complimentary memberships by visiting Access NYT.
- On campus? Visit the NYTimes.com Group Pass page.
- Off campus? Click the Go button on the Access NYT page.
- Where it says 'Find Your School,' enter SUNY Albany. You'll then be redirected to UAlbany's Single Sign-On (SSO) login page. Sign in with your UAlbany credentials to activate your NYT pass.
- Create a NYTimes.com account using your UAlbany email address – or use your pre-existing profile if you have one.
Troubleshooting
Can't create your account? Issues may include having a paid subscription associated with your university email, already having connected a NYT academic pass, or browser/cookie settings. Cancel paid subscriptions at customercare@nytimes.com or 800-591-9233 or Customer Care Chat. For access issues, contact edu@nytimes.com for quick assistance.
What's included?
Your pass includes unlimited online access to The New York Times and mobile applications, including international, Chinese, and Spanish editions, plus archives from 1851 and the NYTimes in Education site. Times Premier content or New York Times Games, New York Times Cooking or The Athletic, and e-reader editions (e.g., Kindle Fire, Nook, etc.) are not included. However, you can add a subscription to Cooking or Games to your free institutional account.
Faculty/staff pass valid for 364 days after activation. Reactivate by re-entering your email at Access NYT. The student pass is valid until the end of your enrolled graduation year.
Subscription access to the NYT Group Pass is exclusively available to current faculty, staff, and students. At this time, access is not available to our alumni and emeriti.
