SEARCH, the purple search box on the library homepage, has filters to help you narrow results to the types of resources you need more quickly. You'll find them on the left side of your search results. 

To make filters stay in place while you're searching:

1. Launch your Search.

2. On the left side of the results page, click on the filters that you need.  They appear under "Active filters", at the top of the filter list.

3.  Click "Remember all filters" (see image below).

Once filters are "locked", they will be applied to all of your searches until you remove them (click the "x" next to each) or click "Reset filters".
